Deborah Kenyon- Principal's Corner

I am honored to serve the Tanner Community as the principal of Tanner High School.  This is my eighteenth year in education, where I have served as: a classroom social studies teacher in both middle and high school settings, girls soccer coach, peer helpers sponsor, student government sponsor, leadership teams, instructional technology specialist, curriculum leader and instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal.  My professional career started as a licensed social worker for the state of Alabama, working with Morgan County DHR, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morgan County, and Intake Specialist for Mountain View Psychiatric Hospital.

My undergraduate degree was earned at Athens State University with a BS in Sociology and Criminal Justice, a Masters Degree from University of North Alabama in Secondary Education and 18 hours of Graduate Level History, Instructional Leadership Certificate from University of West Alabama, and an EDS in Teacher Leadership from the University of West Alabama.

I have always been an advocate for children, and as the principal of Tanner High School, my personal mantra is “All Means All”.  We work as a team toward the success of every student, and teacher in our school, everyday. The leadership team, and teachers at Tanner High School welcome you to be a part of our growth, working toward the success of every student.

Thank you for allowing me to serve your children and our community!
